first bath

 

i'm late in posting this, but these are some pics from lucy's first bath. needless to say, she didn't really enjoy it. we just did it as quickly as possible & got her PJ'd back up!

the shot below is a side by side comparison of garrett & lucy after each of their first baths (right around the same age). since lucy was born, we've not really thought that she & garrett favored one another. but in looking @ this, i'm not so sure? perhaps they do more so than i originally believed.

love those little babies...we've had another day of not really getting out of our PJs. it's been raining most of the day & we've played, the kiddies have been asleep (garrett twice & lucy for the third time - wooh hooh!), i'm trying to recover from a lovely cold/sinus thing, etc. but i'm happy to report - the week's gone well; thanks to my hubby & our sweet friend susan - who are still providing me with the breaks & support i need. :-)

the black & white photo is the latest in a long line of *faces* our little guy can make. he cracks us up with all the looks he gives us. some would say it might be one of the few genetic traits i passed onto my baby boy! :-) yesterday i was letting him play with crayons & markers. before i knew it, he'd basically used the green marker like a lipstick & was covered (fortunately, they're washable - thanks, aunt robyn!). he just makes me laugh, though...this past weekend he did nothing but crack brian & i both up...plus, we're just constantly in awe of how freakin' sweet he is. so, so, so sweet!

having a good day @ the white house...my first day flying solo w/ my babies. no one made it out of their PJs until almost noon, but! we are all currently dressed, showered, fed & both wee ones are napping...what more could a momma ask for? however, i'm no rock star just yet...grandmom comes back tomorrow! :-) next week will be the true test!

little lucy bean...love her!

not only is she the cutest little girl to ever live, but she is super sweet & i cannot believe that God's given her to us! we're all still adjusting to what life will be like with 2 little kiddies around here, but it's been beautiful to have our lucy lynn in our arms, for me to nurse her & kiss her; to change her poopie diapers & swaddle her & see her sleeping in the bassinet beside our bed...even if she sometimes isn't sleeping in there @ all.

 

little man's first haircut

garrett will be 20 months old on saturday, but really hasn't needed a haircut up until this point. his baby hair is very fine & there's not a ton of it, but the eddie munster peak he had going on in the front + the slight rat tail that was forming in the back, simply had to go.

brian heads back to work tomorrow (boo!!!) & so we spent today as a family...going out to lunch - our first official outing with both our little ones in the back seat! - & then taking G to his first haircut this afternoon. he did so well...loved playing w/ the comb, the powder brush & the water botttle (the biggest hit by far!). he didn't cry & all the hairdressers kept oogling over his good behavior AND his uber sweet baby sister!

the barber let him play w/ the squirt bottle...then he started squirting the barber...& anyone else who crossed his path. he loved every second of it!

we're keeping her

 

life with our lucy lynn is amazing. we came home friday around lunch & have been settling into a home that includes two little ones...our kids. so weird saying "kids"! garrett's adjusting as well as we can expect for an almost 20 month old. he's always calling her "baby", smiling @ her, giving her kisses, poking @ her, etc. but so far no hurling toys/books @ her head - i'm sure it's to come, though.

lucy's feeding well, sleeping relatively well & loving any & all snuggles that come her way. it's for certain, we're keeping her. she's so beautiful & despite all the sleep deprivation & exhaustion we might feel, we're completely grateful for the gift of our baby girl!
